A man bore witness to ‘Umar Ibn Al-Khattaab so ‘Umar said to him: “I do not know you, but it does not matter that I do not know you. Bring me someone who does know you.”

A man among the peole said: “I know him.” ‘Umar asked: “What do you know about him?” He said: “He is of good character and is virtuous.”

‘Umar asked: “Is he your neighbour who you know by night and by day, and you know when he comes in and goes out?” The man said: “No.”

‘Umar asked: “Did h have any financial dealings with you which is the way to know whether he is God-fearing or not?” The man said: “No.”

‘Umar then asked: “Has he been your companion on a journey, which is the best way to know whether he is of noble character and attitude?” The man said: “No.”

So ‘Umar said: “Then you do not know him.”

Muslim Prisoners Of War

Ibn Hajar Al-Haythami said:

“If the enemy captures a single Muslim, it becomes wajib (obligatory) on everyone who has the ability to rush to their rescue (even without seeking anyone’s permission). It is apparent that it is compulsory on everyone, similar to the situation where the enemy invades our land. Moreover saving our brothers is of a higher priority, as the sanctity of a Muslim is greater (than the sanctity of a State).”

Ibn Taymiyyah said:

“As for the occupying enemy who is spoiling the religion and the world, there is nothing more compulsory after faith (Iman) than repelling him.”

What Is Jihaad? And Why Do The Believers Fight?

Ash-Shaheed Sayyid Qutb said about jihaad:

“It is a battle for Allaah, to establish His authority on earth and to overthrow all tyrants who try to usurp this authority. In short, it is a fight to make Allaah’s word supreme. It has no motive of imposing the authority of any person, group or nation, or making any personal or national gain.”

He then went on to say, explaining why believers go out to fight:

(1) Believers go out to fight for Allaah’s cause, to establish His authority and Lordship over human life, and to ensure people’s submission to Him alone.

(2) They seek to destroy the tyrants who usurp Allaah’s authority and claim sovereignty for themselves, having no basis for their claim in the form of a permission granted by Allaah or His law.

(3) They fight to declare the liberation of mankind throughout the world from any bondage to any authority, since such bondage represents a humiliation of man.

(4) Believers fight in order to protect people’s rights, freedom and integrity, not to humiliate other races and peoples through the abuse of power Allaah has granted them.

(5) They go out to fight seeking no personal gain whatsoever. Victory brings them nothing other than having obeyed Allaah’s command to go on jihaad, to establish the code of living He has revealed, to make Allaah’s word supreme and to seek His grace and pleasure.”

Further on he says:

“Right at the outset, Islaam rules out any war undertaken for the glory of individuals and states. It rejects all campaigns that seek to exploit resources and open markets, or to subjugate and humiliate other communities.

Islaam has nothing to do with any war that tries to establish the superiority of one class, race, nation, or state over another. The only type of campaign which Islaam approves of is one undertaken for God’s cause.”

Don’t You Feel Any Jealousy?!

‘Alee Ibn Abee Taalib would denounce people who did not prevent their womenfolk from going out to the marketplaces and mixing with the disbelievers. He said to them:

“Do you not feel any shame or protective jealousy? For I have heard that your womenfolk go out in the marketplaces and mix with the disbelievers.”

‘Alee’s Advice To His Troops During His Reign As Caliph

When some border land under Ali’s control was raided, he said:

“Jihaad is one of the gates of paradise, which Allaah opens to the closest of His friends. It is the garment of piety, the shield of Allaah and the greatest protection. Whoever abandons it because of lack of interest, Allaah will give him a garment of humiliation to wear; calamities will befall him, he will be brought low and a seal will be placed on his heart. He will be led away from truth because of neglecting jihaad; he will be humiliated and deprived of justice.

Verily, I called you by night and by day, secretly and openly to fight these people. I told you to attack them before they attacked you, for by Allaah, no people are attacked in their land but they are humiliated. But you were negligent and reluctant, so attacks were launched against you and land was taken from you….

How strange it is, by Allah, that these people are united in their falsehood, and you are disunited and do not support your truth. This is what breaks the heart and brings grief and sorrow. May you perish, for you have become a target to be shot; you are raided and do not raid others, you are attacked and do not attack others. Allaah is being disobeyed, and you are pleased with that. If I command you to march towards them on a hot day, you will say that it is too hot and we should wait until it cools down. If I command you to march towards them in winter, you will say that it is too cold and we should wait until it warms up.

All of that in order to avoid heat and cold. If you are trying to avoid heat and cold, then by Allaah you will try harder to flee from the sword, O you men who are not men. Yon have the minds of children and are as irrational as women…

You have spoiled all my plans with your disobedience and reluctance, to the point that Quraysh have begun to say that the son of Abu Taalib is a courageous man, but he has no experience of war. What a strange thing they are saying! Is there anyone among them with more experience of war than me? Or who has attained a higher position in it than me? For I got involved in it when I had not yet reached the age of twenty, and here I am having passed the age of sixty. But if a man is not obeyed, his wisdom is to no avail…”

How The Orientalists Plot Against Islaam

Posted in Brothers Base, Knowledge, Miscellaneous, Politics with tags , , , , , on August 20, 2015 by TheAuthenticBase

Some Muslims have been deceived by the guise of ‘scholarly research’, which the enemies of Islaam use as a front for their nefarious activities… It is clear that some Muslims have become ensnared in their traps for one of four reasons:

1) They are ignorant of the realities of our Islamic heritage as well as of its pure sources and pristine teachings.

2) They have been deceived by the ‘scholarly research’ that the enemies of Islaam claim for themselves.

3) They desire fame, wanting to give the appearance of free and libertarian thought, after having freed themselves from the shackles of blind following, which they attribute to Islaam.

4) They are driven by deviation and desire and find no way to express their feelings except by hiding behind the shield of Orientalists and misguided Western authors who write about Islaam. [p. 36]

Those who conspire against Islaam have varied in their methods and in the execution of those methods over the centuries. When Muslims were strong, their attack took the form of intellectual and cultural invasion. When the muslims were weak, their attack took the form of military warfare, the goal of which was to annihilate all Muslims. If war did not produce fruitful results, they would resort to deception, intellectual as well as cultural warfare. Within the boundaries of Islamic territory, they would infiltrate the ranks of Muslims, disseminating morals and ideas that were contrary to the basic tenets of Islaam. [p. 475]

At the university of Edinburgh, the orientalist who was the Dean of the faculty of Islamic Studies was a Christian priest. And the Dean of Arabic Studies in Glasgow was also a priest who has been a missionary in Palestine for almost twenty years. In Oxford, the Dean of Islamic Studies was a Jew who previously worked for the British Secret Service in Libya during the second world war. [p. 44]

They (these ignorant Muslims)  hastened to accept and take from Orientalist books, being deceived into thinking that their knowledge was vast, and moreover, being deceived into thinking that they only spoke the truth. They felt that Orientalists followed a precise set of principles in their ‘scholarly research’, from which they never deviated. And this is how some Muslims came to trust the research and studies carried out by Orientalists. [p.52]
