Markaz Al-Madina Institute
Markaz Al-Madina Institute
Markaz Al-Medina is an Institute for those students of knowledge who are committed to the methodology of The Pious Predecessors.
The Institute prepares and arranges for them a suitable place and environment for learning their religion.
Furthermore, the Institute teaches them the Arabic Language, which is the basis for the student in matters of understanding the Qur’aan and Sunnah and the Methodology of The Pious Predecessors (Salaf Us-Saalih).
The Institute assists students in attaining knowledge leading to acceptance by Allah the Most High. Allah says in His Book meaning, “And when you are told to rise up, rise up, Allah will exalt the degrees of those of you who believe and those who have been granted knowledge”. 58:11
He the Most High also says meaning, “Indeed it is only those who have knowledge among His slaves that fear Allah”. 35:28
Ibn Mas’oud heard the Messenger of Allah say, “There is no envy except in two: a person whom Allah has given wealth and he spends it in the right way, and a person whom Allah has given wisdom (i.e. religious knowledge) and he gives his decisions accordingly and teaches it to the others.” (Al – Bukhari)
Abu Hurairah narrated from the Messenger of Allah, “He who treads a path in search of knowledge, Allah will make easy for him a path to the Garden.“ (Muslim)
Abu Hurairah also heard Allah’s Messenger say, “When a man dies, his acts come to an end, but three: recurring charity, or knowledge (by which people) benefit, or a pious son, who prays for him (for the deceased).” (Muslim)
Abu Hurairah also narrated from the Messenger of Allah, “The people of Yemen have come to you and they are more gentle and soft-hearted. Belief is Yemenite and Wisdom is Yemenite.” (Al-Bukhari)
lbn Mas’oud also narrated that the prophet the Messenger of Allah pointed with his hand towards Yemen and said twice, “Faith is there.” (Al-Bukhari)
Therefore, we have prepared for you a suitable location and place in Yemen and shall provide you with the key for knowledge, ‘The Arabic Language’, insha’Allah.
An overview of the Institute
The history of the Institute:
The Institute was established after lengthy thinking and consultancy with the scholars of Yemen, at the top of whom is Sheikh Yahya Al-Hajooree who is in charge of the Dammaj center. Sheikh Yahya is the successor to Sheikh Muqbil Bin Haadi AI-Wadi’ee, Rahimuhullah. Thereafter, the Institute was established on the 1st of January, 2002 . The institute was established after conducting an overall study of all issues that are necessary for the teaching of the students, including costs, care, and educational means.
The location of the Institute:
The institute is located in the center of Sana’a, the capital city of Yemen, in the middle of a main street that links the northern and the southern parts of the city. Many commercial places and shops that sell Islamic books are spread along the street. In addition, the largest supermarket in Sana’a is located on the street. The prices in this supermarket are much less than prices in other commercial places. Furthermore, many communication centers and internet cafes exist on the street. The Institute is located on the fourth floor of a building called “The Sharqain Center”. The center consists of Masjid As-Sharqain, which is considered a visiting center for scholars in Sana’a, in addition to the Institute. It also consists of an Islamic library for reading, revising, and research. There is also a nearby library for buying books. There is another building for apartments beside the Sharqain Center whereby students are considered fortunate to find a vacant apartment for rent.
Services of the Institute:
The Institute is concerned with the reception, hospitality, and care of the student upon arrival. It arranges for them to be received from the airport and secured with accommodation, whether temporary or permanent. If the accommodation is temporary, the Institute will search for a suitable permanent home for the student. After this, a person from the Institute accompanies the student for a tour of the city upon request for three days without charge. This is in order to introduce and familiarize him with the places in the city and for him to list names of places that he may need. If the student wishes to be accompanied for more than three days the Institute requests a fee for the extra days. As for transactions with Yemeni government official bodies, the Institute will receive the student and see him off on departure taking care of all necessary processes.
