Who Are The Saved Sect?

Posted in 'Aqeedah, Biddah / Innovation, Miscellaneous with tags , , , , , , , , , on October 29, 2011 by TheAuthenticBase

Describing the saved sect, the Messenger of Allaah said, they are

(A)What I and my companions are upon.” [At-Tirmidhee 2792]

(B)The Jamaa’ah.

(C)As-Suwaad Al-A’dham (the main body).

‘The main body’ here does not refer to the great majority of people in every age and era, rather this is specific for the era of the Companions and the Taabi’een (those whom the Messenger of Allaah praised).

And furthermore, that person is from the Jamaa’ah who agrees and conforms to the truth, even if he is alone:

Ibn Mas’ood (d. 32H) said:

“The jamaa’ah is whatever agrees with the truth – even if you are alone.” [Reported in Taareekh Dimashq with an authentic chain of narration]

Ishaaq Ibn Raahawaih (d. 238H), the teacher of Imaam Bukhaaree, said:

“If you were to ask the ignorant people about the ‘Main Body’ they would say, ‘The majority of people.’ They do not know that the jamaa’ah is the scholar who clings to the narrations from the Prophet (saw) and his way. So whoever is with the him (the scholar) and follows him, then he is the Jama’ah.” [Aboo Nu’aym in Hilyatul Awliyaah]

Aboo Ja’far Muhammad Ibn ‘Alee said:

“It is a sufficient portion of defect for a person to clearly see from the people [of mistakes and shortcomings] that which he is blind of from his own self…” (1)

Hasan said:

The believer is the mirror of his brother, if he sees something that he is not pleased with, he straightens it out and adjusts it, and protects his honor in private and public.” (2)

‘Abdullaah Ibn Muhammad Ibn Manaazil saod:

“The Believer seeks excuses for his brothers, and the hypocrite seeks the mistakes for his brothers.” (3)

Bakr Ibn ‘Abdillaah Al-Muzanee said:

“Treat your brothers well despite their shortcomings that they have, just as you like for them to treat you [well] despite the shortcomings that you have. Everyone that you see making a mistake or mishap should not fall from your sight, for surely you are most deserving of this yourself.” (4)

Ibn Al-Qayyim said:

“Whosoever desires to purify his heart, then let him prefer Allah to his desires.”

He also said:

“The sinner does not care about whether he angers his Lord or not, all he cares about is satisfying his lusts and desires.”

Fudayl Ibn ‘Iyaad asid:

“Whoever seeks a brother without faults would never have a brother to be his friend.” (1)

Once Talhah came to ‘Abdul-Jabbaar Ibn Waa’il whle he was sitting with some people, so he whispered something to him and then left. He (Talhah) asked them, “Do you know what he just said to me?

He said, “Yesterday I saw that you had looked around whle you were performing the prayer.” (2)

Ibn Al-Mubaarak said:

“Whenever a man would see something from his brother that he dislikes, he would give him orders in private and forbid him in private. Conversely, he would be rewarded for him screening his brother and also rewarded for forbidding evil. As for today, whenever a man sees what he dislikes he angers his brother and unveils his screen.” (3)

Fudayl Ibn ‘Iyaad said:

“The Believer screens and gives sincere advice and the wicked evil doer unveils and exposes.” (4)

The Quraan Is The Uncreated Words Of Allaah

Posted in 'Aqeedah, Qur'an with tags , , , , on October 18, 2011 by TheAuthenticBase

Some people came to Aboo Mus’ab Az-Zuhree and said, ‘There is, in our area in Baghdad a man who says that his recital of the Quraan is created.‘ (1)

So he said, ‘This is a foul saying of the nabatheans.

Aboo Ishaaq said about him (Aboo Mus’ab Az-Zuhree), “Aboo Mus’ab Az-Zuhree was one of the most knowledgeable of the people of Al-Madeenah.

He was born in the year 150H and died in 242H.

He studied at length under Imaam Maalik, learned fiqh from him and heard the Muwatta from him, reporting it precisely.

Those who narrated from him include the likes of: Imaam Bukhaaree, Imaam Muslim, Aboo Daawood, At-Tirmidhee, An-Nisaa’ee, amongst others.

Footnotes:

(1) The issue of the Quraan being created has been discussed previously in my blog. However, in short, Ahlu Sunnah say that the Quraan is the uncreated words of Allaah. Dispute arrose over this issue, mainly at the time of Imaam Ahmad. The issue of whether the Quraan was created or not caused a split to occur among the Ummah of Muhammad (saw), the correct opinion being that it is uncreated.

However the issue of whether a persons own recitation of the Quraan is created or not (as was asked in this quote above) is a tricky and deviant question, as it is not certain whether what is being asked is whether the Quraan is created or whether the persons movements of his lips and mouth is created. This was another question which caused deviations to occur.

The main point to know is the saying of Al-Awzaa’ee where he said, “Stop where they (the salaf) stopped, and refrain from saying that which they refrained from saying.

Venerated Graves Are Nothing But Idols

Al-Meelee said:

“Samples of Contemporary Idolatry:

If it is said to the people that those tombs and shrines are idols they would say, ‘you are insulting the pious!’ O my brothers, understand the Arabic language well and also the Deen and then you will find that it is not insulting the Awliyaa. For anything that is ascribed for worship other than Allaah is an idol and all who worship it are destroyed… Those shrines and tombs are idols even if they are ascribed to a pious friend of Allaah.”

[Risaalat Ash-Shirk, p. 268]

The Prophet (saw) said:

The Hour will not be established until tribes from my Ummah will follow the Mushrikeen and until some tribes from my Ummah will actually actually worship idols.

In another narration:

…until groups from my Ummah will worship idols.

Al-Humaydee narrated to us saying:

“By Allaah, that I should fight against those who reject the ahaadeeth of Allaah’s Messenger (sallallaahu ‘alayhe wa sallam) is more beloved to me than that I should fight against a like number of Turks.”

Al-Humaydee narrated from the likes of: Fudayl Ibn ‘Iyaad, Sufyaan Ibn ‘Uyaynah, Imaam Ash-Shaafi’ee amongst others.

Those who narrate from him include the likes of: Imaam Bukhaaree, Adh-Dhuhlee, Aboo Hatim, amongst others.

He died in the year 229H.

She Should Not Mistreat Or Annoy Him:

If she does so, then Al-Hoor Al-‘Ayn curse her from above (Jannah).

Proof:

Mu’aadh Ibn Jabal narrated that the Prophet (saw) said:

“No woman annoys her husband but his wife among Al-Hoor Al-‘Ayn says, ‘Do not annoy him! May Allah destroy you (Literally ‘Kill you’)! For he is just a temporary guest with you and soon he wil leave you and join (come to) us‘.”

Hasan Al-Basree said:

“What do you think about a day in which they [all of mankind] have stood on their feet for a period of time that amounts fifty thousand years, they haven’t eaten any food, nor drank any drink, until the point that their throats have become severed out of thirst and their insides burnt upon out of hunger, and then they will be taken to the Fire and given drink from a scorching, hot spring?!”

[Al-Hilyaa, 4/500]

Mutarrif Ibn ‘Abdillaah said:

“Verily, this death has certainly corrupted upon the people of pleasure their pleasure, so seek pleasure in which there is no death.”

[Lataa’f Al-Ma’arif, p.70]

Hasan Al-Basree said:

“O Son of Adam! Walk on the earth with your feet as long as you wish, for it shall soon be your grave.

You have not ceased to subtract from your life span since you came from your mothers’ womb.”

[Al-Hilyah, 2/155]

Bishr Ibn Mansoor said:

“Verily, I think of something from the affairs of the worldly life which distracts me from thinking about the hereafter, and I fear upon my sanity.”
